The Great Island Triathlons offer a unique sprint-distance race experience with two options: a traditional swim triathlon or an adventure triathlon featuring kayaking. Both races take place Saturday, June 27, starting at 8:00 AM, and include a 750m swim or 5K kayak, a 10.6-mile bike ride, and a 5K run. The race is based out of a single, central transition area at the scenic Lockport Boat Launch, making it an ideal spot for spectators. Athletes can compete individually or as part of a relay team, with awards by race type, gender, and age group. Post-race recovery food and a participant shirt or athletic towel are included—making this a fun, well-supported event for athletes and families alike.
